Sisters
When I was back in
Christchurch in 2013 this photo was taken of my sister Angela
Vallance and I at her house, we were having a good old laugh over
something, my BIL took the photo and I loved it, it captured the
moment at the right time. I decided it was such a fun photo that I
would do a scrapbook page - and I did. When I realised we were going
back to Christchurch for Christmas 2014 I had an idea. For years now
we as a family no longer give gifts to each other at Christmas only
for birthday's, we only give to the children of which now Rory is the
only one, my nephews are 20 and 23 now so they get birthday's only.
Anyway back on topic, I wanted to have this page transformed into a
12x12 canvas - man the prices differ so much. While at the house sit
here at Morayfield - Harvey Norman had a special on real canvas 12x12
not the faux ones for $20, I was in there quick smart. See below the
finished canvas, Angela does not know she is getting this, hope she
likes it as it captures the moment 100%.
Finally under way
Rory's Album
Well it's almost
Christmas and I have had been really busy since my last post. I have
managed to get all my digital pages printed - thank you Office Works
Morayfield, and all for the cost of $2ppage, happy hell yes. I have
been trying to get this album for grandson Rory under way however as
the original album is buried somewhere in our storage shed I thought
ok start again from the beginning and purchase a new album - just
what I did. I started from 2006 with Yasmine's baby scans - and have
finished with 2014. Yep there are gaps in between however I am
working on that and they are under way. It is a start and a huge
start. I had a total of 38 pages printed so that's a great start.
Honestly I was so amazed at how good they look, so professional and
my handi work. I have used a number of quick pages as I thought that
would be the only way I was going to get this done, I have to say
though that they are NOT ALL quick pages, some of them are my
own handi work, as I did a few challanges at Jelly Beans and those
pages are included here. (Thank you Noriel Sirca for gettting me
started on digi - yes I am now addicted) and also to Kym and Toni for
making me actually create with your challanges.
And here are a few of the finished
one's so far.
Storm Season
And last Friday it came in so fast caused so much damage in Brisbane it was peak hour the hail was the size of cricket balls and the damage it did was dreadful. Thankfully we never go the hail here we did get 1 very strong wind gust around 4.30pm and then the rain. It was so wonderful to get this we got 30ml here on the Friday evening and another 10ml on the Saturday it is amazing how the lawns have greened up that fast.
Lunch with our long time friends
Sunday 31st November
Today we had a fabulous day with our
very good friends Helen and David Waldron and Bronwen and Sonny Johns
(who used to live in Nelson) they came down for lunch which was a
shared lunch always good makes it so much easier. We had salad, cold
roast chicken, cold silver side, hot chicken kebabs and potatoes,
along with Turkish bread which we had warmed. The lads had beer and
the girls had some wine along with Grapetise all very nice. For
dessert we had birds nests with whipped cream and strawberries. Later
in the day washed down by a cuppa before the travelers returned
home. A great day of fun and laughs. All of us are heading back to NZ
for Christmas and New Year. And a lovely Sunset to close off a great day.
A little bit of country
A week ago we headed for a drive out into the country through Wamuran and onto Dayboro where we had packed a picnic lunch all be it very limited a we had not been shopping. The drive was just beautiful up over the Mt Mee Range, down into Dayboro. We had lunch at a nice spot next to the local swimming pool and beside the craft cottage - NO I did not enter through the doors - talk about self restraint. It was a lovely drive coming back through Petrie and Narangba.
