New mode of transport

When we go away in the caravan we usually take my full size bike, and it is a hassle having to put it on and off the bike carrier - we have seen alot of the fold up bikes that many Grey Nomads use nowdays on their caravan holidays and thought mmmmmmmm ok we could look for one of those, we only ever take 1 bike - however as we love this model and style so much I personally think we will obtain another one sometime. Being fold up makes it so much easier for transporting the said bike, it folds in 1/2 and has a carry bag  - much easier  - what do you think?
I think someone has owned it already - hahaha

Turangi - 28 - 30 Aug 2012

We arrrived into Turangi late on the afternoon of Tuesday 28th, think we arrived around 1615, it was getting pretty cold when we arrived so we boiled the jug and unloaded the car of all the bags etc. Good thing about these holiday homes is they are used most days of the week/year therefore there is always, stuff left behind ie - milk, bread in the freezer, teabags and coffee so we did not have to race straight out and buy food. After our cuppa we went off to the supermarket to buy the essentials required. With this done it was inside for the rest of the night and it was very cold so the heaters were both whirring away one large reverse cycle in the lounge area and another in the hallway outside our bedroom door. We were pretty tired after 2days travel and were not our of bed long. Below are a few photos of around Turangi and Brian on the river, also the hot pool at Tokanau and some of the the mountains - enjoy.

NZ Trip Aug - Sept 2012

Monday 27th Aug & Tuesday 28th  - 2012

Finally the day had arrived for us to depart Brisbane to Auckland. We left home at 0915 for our trip down the Burce H/Way and headed for Brisbane Airport. We wanted to get there without any drama that we know the Bruce can create. Arrived in good time, parked the car high up in the carpark and headed to the terminal to check in as it was already open. Getting rid of the large heavy bags was such a bonus. We went off to get a coffee and fill in time before departure for our flight to Brisbane. We arrived in Auckland in good time and once through Imm and Customs made our way out to the free shuttle pick up area and were then taken to our overnight Formule1 Hotel. After checking in we went and got some dinner at a nice restaurant next door. Came back to our room and showered and into bed to watch some TV. Had a great night sleep and next morning made our way to the Auckland Domestic airport for our check in to Rotorua, where we then found a coffee bar and waited to board our flight to Rotorua. Once we arrived we were met by Pegasus Rental Car company with our rental which we then left and headed south toward Turangi where we will stay for 7nights at one of the NZ Police Holiday Homes. Enjoy the photos and I will add some more as time goes on. Oh on a crafty note I have finally managed to re arrange all my Digital Scrapping stuff into folders by Company then by what they are ie: flowers, ribbons - bows etc, papers, embellishments etc etc etc  - so now I have them all organised and easy to find.
